Celebrating One Year at DigiScrapInfo.com
In the waning days of 2006, my sister said, “Should we start our own website?” And just over one year later, here we are. Who would have guessed that DigiScrapInfo.com would evolve so much? There have been so many exciting changes!
Our goal was to provide resources & give back to the digiscrapping community. I think that we’ve accomplished that. Heidi & I feel like we’ve established a presence. We hope that people are finding what they need & getting answers to their questions.
And what started out as organizing with ACDSee has turned into a full time habit for both Heidi & I. Last September I joined ACDSee as their Community Manager & that’s been keeping me very busy. In 2007 ACDSee brought the ability to view & catalog brushes to ACDSee 10 along with some new improvements. And we are working on products for release later in 2008.
Over the past year DigiScrapInfo.com has evolved so much. We’ve tried to respond to what people need & want. We added regular newsletters & I’m pleased to say that we have 500 signed up in the forums & to receive our forums.
Last July we started having chats at digiscrapping sites. These turned out to be quite different from the chats I had attended. They were fast paced with questions flying faster than we could answer them! Soon we had a format & realized that we needed at least 2 people & 3 was better. We took December off, but we’re starting to schedule them in January again. Heidi has done some amazing things wth video. They allow people to ‘look over her shoulder’ as she makes the software dance. Heidi also held some live trial webinars. The feedback was that people liked seeing the software in action.
We’re in the process of planning a celebration for our first birthday of DigiScrapInfo.com. I hope that you’ll join us as we celebrate the past year & look forward to the year to come! Thank to you to all of you that have joined us over the past year. We’re always open to suggestions!

News from us
We haven’t been blogging as much this past week or so. I had gotten into a habit of blogging most every day. This past week Heidi & I were distracted. She has blogged for you though.
So what were we doing? We have been working on a new project. I had decided that I wanted a personal blog where I could expand on my ideas about social media, tools, building community, web strategy & whatever else I want to blog about. Awhile ago I had purchased the URL ‘conniebensen.com’, so last weekend Heidi went to work building a blog. She said last night that it’s ready to launch! So I’m pleased to announce my new blog, My Conversations, at www.conniebensen.com You’re welcome to come over & say hi.
I plan to continue sharing new information here & posting tutorials just as I have been, then linking from over there. We value our readers here & enjoy all of you. That blog will have more in-depth information & you’re welcome to read there too!
Heidi is working on another video for ACSDee 9. The first four have been well received.
We’ve been busy with ACDSee chats & have had 3 this past week. We don’t have anymore scheduled now, but I have requests, so I’ll be posting them when they get scheduled. And I’ll also post them at the ACDSee group at Facebook.
What have you been busy with? Heidi noticed that our forums have been quiet.
Questions & Comments in our email
One of the joys of blogging is that we hear from you, our readers! So, what comes in our email?
1. Questions & suggestions:
- Are you wondering about something? Feel free to email us or leave a comment in regard to topics that you’d like us to blog about.
- And if you’re looking for software or an application to make life easier, make that request too! (that’s how I found Live Writer)
- If you have a topic that you’d like to write a guest blog post for us - DO let us know!
2. Requests to do chats - here are some answers to questions in that regard
- Yes! we are available to do chats & we’d like to have two weeks advance notice
3. Questions about ACDSee products & their use
- Ask away! One of us will answer as soon as possible
- We also create tutorials on demand.
4. Notes of thanks - we received this one this week & we are glad that our information is helpful. It’s wonderful to hear how you’re using the web tools that we blog about! It’s our readers that make the digiscrapping community great! Dalynn gave me permission to share her note of thanks about the information in our post about wiki’s.
I’ve been heading up a big ‘Yearbook Project’ for my homeschool group (about 60 families) and had recruited several new digital scrapbookers from that group to do the pages. We scrambled to collect photos from all the families of our events over the past year. We divvied up all the pages we each were going to do. But it was such a pain trying to keep organized just using the Yahoo group we had created for the group.
Then came along your article about WIKIs. WOW! I watched that video and couldn’t wait to sign up for one for our group. It is much more efficient. I’m sure it saves me literally hours a week!
Several other articles have been very enlightening and wonderful too. Anyway, I just wanted to let you both know how much I appreciate all you are doing with your website!
This Yearbook project is almost finished and I will be able to get back to regular scrapbooking soon, I hope…
Dalynn
