Do you find organizing your previews helpful in ACDSee Photo Manager?
Last week there was discussion at DST about Organizing with ACDsee..anything you wished you had done diferently?
One of the topics that came up was previews. Some of the people thought organizing their previews was extremely helpful and some thought it was a waste of time.
I personally love seeing all my previews at a touch of button and being able to narrow them down. But I am also a kit scrapper, I mix and match a little bit, but primarily use elements/paper from one kit. I have been recommended starting with organizing your previews since its an easy place for beginners to start
So I am curious on what you think:
Do you find organizing your previews helpful?

Mar 14, 2008 - 07:03:12I definitely love having my previews organized! I can quickly see at a glance what is in a kit and then choose what I want to use. I often mix and match stuff from more than one kit as well but having the preview organized is a necessity! In fact, though I have a number of categories, upon organizing a kit, I generally just tag the kit preview, the papers (as a group) and the elements (as a group) and I only tag individual elements if they are somewhat special or outstanding or I know I want to be doubly sure of finding and using them!
I could take it or leave it. I don’t use it that often but when I am looking I’m glad it did it.
I love having my previews organized since I tend to scrap by kits. Or if I am looking for a certain color, if I search by color and previews, I am able to find everything that goes with the kit at once.
Since I have been digi-scrapping two years before I got ACDSee, I organized all the previews/contact sheets first. Now while I am slowly organizing each kit by paper & elements, I still can find what is in all my kits by searching my previews.
I actually like having the previews organized…it’s the one thing I can organize and not be afraid of losing valuable time tagging if that indeed happens–but is most useful. In other words, if I tag nothing else, it would be previews—the previews give me a quick way to easily find what I need, but yet it allows them to stay in their respective folders.
