use Utterz to be Herd
Have you ever wanted to do podcasting, but the thought of the hardware & software is overwhelming? Here’s the perfect thing for you!
Utterz is a new tool that easily lets you put voice messages on your blog or site.
Here’s my Utter for you:
Do you like it? Now if I can do that, so can you! Remember that Heidi is the technical person!
This is SO easy!
Go to Utterz.com and register.
Then on your cell phone, dial 712-432-6666 (Mooo - cute, huh?)
- Follow the prompts & record your message.
- If you don’t like it, rerecord it. Save it.
- Go to their website & click on ‘My Utterz’.
- Use one of the choices below:
- In Live Writer I’m using the last one ‘Embed the Player’
It’s THAT easy! Give it a try & link us to yours. I’d love to hear what your Utterz!
And what creative ways can you use this? You can put this on blogs, in Facebook, anywhere that you can embed HTML code.

How cool is that?!?! All our family lives far away, and I can totally see having the kids leave a message now and then.
Can you use it with your regular phone too? I’m stingy when it comes to my cell phone minutes. lol…
Try putting in your regular phone. I bet it will work. I think the # just tracks which profile to connect the recording to online. Let us know Jen.

BTW, you can use your regular phone number. I would just check the profile area to make it private.
It wouldn’t play for me! the first time, firefox had the yellow bar under the tabs saying the site had tried to do a popup, click there for more options. I did and set it to allow your site to do popups.
Tried playing again, still won’t work (volume is on and up!), the slider doesn’t move to show it is playing, altho the icon changes from play to pause (ie, for someone to hit that pause during play if they like, it’s not paused, I don’t think).
Anyway, I’ll keep trying, this seems like a nifty thing! Is it long distance to call in to, though?

Yes, the wordpress.com blogs don’t allow embedding. Sorry about that.
Sara - yes it’s a long distance call. I’m using Firefox & it works, but a friend couldn’t use it either. Try opening it in IE (I hate to suggest that) - but give it a whirl.

You can use your home phone. You may want to use a calling card though. It’s a quick call if you don’t plan to make a long message.

oh also, utterz.com requires that you have the latest version of flash for security purposes. if you’re having trouble playing utterz on the site, try upgrading your flash and you should be all set!
