Sep 24, 2007 - 12:09:59great list of photobook resources
I am working on a project with the plans of using BLURB because of the low price for a large book,120-160 pages is $34 for the hardcover book. The reviews have been great for the hardcover but one reviewer compared the softcover and hardcover and noted a lower quality of photos for the softcover (though it was the same files).
just thought you may want to know of another resource
Thanks, I have looked at blurb.com and they didn’t seem “photographer quality print” photo books. I will take another look at them.
great list and very helpful…i have filed it for future reference…i am looking to do a 12 x 12 book from scrapbook lo so this will be a great reference…i did do a great travel book with templates from picaboo…it was costly but looked very professional
I’m surprised you didn’t list Viovio.com. I’ve been using them for a couple of years now with great results. Did a head to head comparison between them and Shutterfly January ‘07 and the only difference was price. A 100 page 8.5×8.5 hard cover book at Viovio is $70 LESS than a 100 page 8×8 at Shutterfly. Viovio also offers a 10×10 and a dozen other sizes as well. And unlike Shutterfly they have softcover book options too.
I have looked at Viovio.com and have all their information. The reason why it wasn’t listed in my blog listed because they hadn’t changed prices/products/etc. since I last looked at them. I was concentrating my blog entry on price changing or new products and not trying to list all of them again. I have all their information here: Viovio
I foudn a great new place that prints your scrapbook pages. It is Pure Print Designs and their website is: http://www.pureprintdesigns.com/pureprintdesigns/. They only charge $2.25 per page and the quality is great! I have been very satisfied with them and woudl recommend them.
I live in small town Casper, WY and love to digital scrapbook my two kids. I couldn’t find anywhere locally to print them except Kinkos who wanted to charge me $15 each! I looked around on the web and found pureprintdesigns.com. They’ve printed 75 pages for me already. Best price on the web (2.25) for the quality. Amazing pic quality too. Highly recommended.
Great writeup. There is another option, although it is more limited, and that’s publishing through apple via Aperture or iPhoto.
I did an apple book a few years ago and the quality wasn’t nearly as good as what blurb produced, however I would hope that apple has upgraded their printing technology in the past 4 years.
I have pictures and details on the blurb book, including mistakes, here:
http://www.4tay.com/blogs/Adam_Parker/Blurb_Italy_book_has_arrived/1/1/692
Overall blurb has been an excellent product for the price, but I’ll have to look into some of the others you listed above.
Thanks
You didn’t list Cherish Bound! Amazing products, easy online publishing center, no software and incredible quality and prices!! It’s the hidden gem!
