The power of blogging is so amazing to me. Heidi & I are enjoying our blog’s ability to teach & share information. The feedback from our readers is fabulous & motivates us to provide more! So I’m really excited to share some news that I received today. The significance is that as blog readers you can make a difference!

Remember when I blogged about Windows Live Writer & everyone agreed it was THE BEST blogging tool?!! Well, some people asked me for help with troubleshooting & some of you provided your comments. I posted a culmination of that information, which was noticed by Sean O’Driscoll, GM of Marketing from Microsoft. He forwarded it to the development team.

Today I received a personal note at Facebook from Joe Cheng, a Microsoft software developer on the Live Writer team saying:

Hi Connie, I wanted to let you know that Beta 3 of Windows Live Writer was released yesterday. Two things I want to make sure you’re aware of. 1) Images can now be automatically uploaded with Blogger blogs, via Google’s Picasa service. I know a lot of scrapbookers are on Blogger and have been waiting for this. 2) Beta 2 and earlier made screenshots pretty blurry; I noticed you have a lot of screenshots on your blog lately.
As always, let me know if you have any questions/comments! Thanks!

Isn’t it nice that Microsoft is worried about scrapbookers and takes the time to send a personal note to us?!! especially scrapbookers using Blogger?!!! like my techie friend Hummie! And I can’t wait to see the improvement on the screenshots. Heidi & I enjoy throwing up tutorials here quickly in Live Writer. It’s a great tool. I also compose our newsletters in Live Writer and copy/paste into the software because Word kind of mungles it. So a big thanks to Joe & your team!

What are you waiting for? go get the 3rd beta of Window Live Writer! Here are the new features:

So dear readers, give it a whirl & let us know how it goes! Microsoft is paying attention & looking forward to your feedback. That’s pretty exciting, don’t you agree?

Yes, that is pretty exciting. I think the photos was one of the main reasons I quit using it. The other was that of deleting posts.

I will have to give this a whirl.

Did you know that Blogger already uploads to Picassa from the online editor? You can go there to see all of your uploaded photos and delete them too. I do not think a lot of Blogger users know that.

So for them to put it on Picassa makes sense…they just made the connection that was already there, but through the Live Writer, which makes sense.

I was excited to try it…downloaded it which took forever to install….started writing…went to insert to insert a photo….but when I select a photo from my hard drive and click the button…I get an error messages that says “please select a photo.” ….now, I’m not that technology illiterate that I don’t know how to select a file so it shows in the menu before clicking okay.

It just does not work…how frustrating to get my hopes up for nothing…I looked through the forum and the help files. The help files are not updated and indicate that it cannot be used with Blogger for photos…so if it is a setting, I have no help on it.

I guess I am back to my old ways.

Well, you know me, I don’t quit at anything as much as I sometimes would like to.

I opened up my images in PSE, simply resaved them, and now they are pulled in.

I am wondering if using the “Save to Web” feature and the compression did something to prevent the first set from working. It is midnight now and I cannot play with that any more.

Are you tired of reading my rambings?

So, I jumped through one hump and landed on a mound.

My photos in my post have an x in the corner of them with no photo and when I click on them, I get a Google page that says “Forbidden
Your client does not have permission to get URL /1.1 from this server.”

Frustrating…now I should have just done it the normal way.

Never tired of them Hummie! It’s too bad that it’s not working though. :(

I downloaded the Beta 3 and revised some of my latest posts so they have better images. The fuzzy screenshots were bothering me too. (I didn’t do Connie’s posts though.)
