ACDSee Photo Manager can create zip files

August 3rd, 2007 by Connie

I just learned of this today.  It’s very easy to do!

To make a zip file:

  • Open a folder
  • Select the items to be included
    • Ctrl A to select all items
    • select first item, then Shift last item in a series
    • select an item, Ctrl to select additional items
  • Create | Archive

  • Change the pull down menu to Zip Archive
    • Click on settings
      • Change to Low Compression, Save Settings, OK
    • image
  • Click on Create & it will zip your file up for you!

Thank you so much for posting this! I HATE having to leave ACDSee everything time I have to zip kits together! One question, though – why do you have to use LOW compression?

You’re welcome! I’m going to have Heidi address that question too. But for me compression generally means the possibility of reducing the quality of files.
Heidi, what’s your opinion?

Thank you so much for all of the information you guys have put together in one place! I really appreciate all of your hard work. This is a great tip. I’m amazed everyday with the things this program does. The one thing I can’t seem to figure out is how to unzip a file in ACDSee. That’s just about the only thing I do outside of ACDSee now. Keep up the good work! -c-
