Organizing software for our Mac friends

Are you a Mac user & looking for image organizing software?

GraphicConverter was recommended by Mac users.

I’ve never used it, but in reading about the features it sounds like it has many similarities to the functionalities that we love about ACDSee Photo Manager. I see that it imports RAW pictures.

Please let us know if you are familiar with it, or how it works if you try it.

Hey! I’ve popped into your blog a couple of times but never commented because most of the info you’ve had has been about ACDSee, which as you now isn’t Mac supported. I really loved the idea of what ACDSee could do but it only frustrated me to see more of what I couldn’t have… boooohoooo, lol. I can’t tell you how excited I am to see that there is a program that actually works with a Mac that looks as good as ACDSee if not better… oooooooohhhhhhhhh!!!! Thanks so much for bringing this to my attention! You rawk!!! :D I’m interested to hear from other mak digi-scrappers what they think of this program if they have it too. I have to ear mark some money to buy it, even if it is only $30 but in the meantime, I’m curious what they say about it. :D

Thanks for keeping us MAC users in mind. I was absolutely depressed when I realized ACDSee didn’t work with MAC - - especially after spending so much time arranging on my laptop with it. Hope this is the “answer” we’re looking for - — keep us posted! Thanks again :)

I have been testing graphic converter for a week or so now, and I am sorry to say that it is not very good for scrapbooking (in my opinion). I have cataloged about 6000 items which is just 25% of my scrapbooksupplies. The main reason that I don´t like it, is that the search function is way too slow. You can add keywords to all kinds of files, but when you do a search for a keyword it takes up to several minutes to find the items(I have 2G ram and a 2.16Ghz processor) It is not even close to ACDsee….. I have also tested Shoebox, Mediadex and IView Media, and I have decided to go for the last one(Pro edition). The IView Media simple version is also a good alternative, but it doesn´t allow more than 8000 items in each catalog and you can´t use it to rename your files. The Pro version allows unlimited items in a cataloge and it also lets you rename files.(You have to hurry to buy it, because they don´t make the program anymore, Microsoft has bought the company and they have made a new version of it that cost $299. Amazon still have the old version at $129)
