Hi Kelley,
To use a blog reader, it doesn't matter who your blog is with. They're unrelated.

Hi - thanks for the info. I have typepad and I noticed you didn't mention them. Does it matter who my blog is with?

Hi Rona,
Yes, Google Reader means a google mail account - but you don't have to receive email at it.

And my friend Ernie has a great suggestion. So I updated my post & included info & links for both browsers. IE7 does offer a blog reader & Firefox has LiveFeeds. It's email option, Thunderbird also has a blog reader function that many people like. Lots of options for you!

Did you know that IE7 has a built-in blog reader that works really, really well? You might want to check it out and include it in your information since, like it or not, this is still a Microsoft world and the latest figures I read show that 85% of internet users use IE rather than any of the other browsers.

Ok, I think I understand it a little bit better, thank you! So if I opted for google reader, I'd need a gmail account. If I get a gmail account, is that another email account I'd have to keep track of? Or do I just have it for the purpose of being able to use google reader? (sorry for all the questions!)

I do understand that a blog reader would make it SO much EASIER to check my daily blogroll reads if they've been updated or not :)
