Remember to back up the ACDSee Photo Manager Database

January 31st, 2007 by Heidi

Want a friendly reminder to back up your ACDSee Database?

Go under a Tools | Options and click on Database. Make sure Display Backup Reminder box is checked and pick how often. I would
recommend every week if you have done a lot of organizing and download kits frequently.

Backup is really quick and easy, follow this tutorial: Backing up ACDSee Photo Manager
And if you are planning on doing a big change, such as transfering your kits to EHD, then backup before you do the change.

Lastly, don’t rewrite over your last backup. Keep about 3 backups to be safe. At least one of these backups should be on a different hard drive or burn it to a CD.

I use an on-line back-up service, Mozy. The files on my hard dirve and my EHD are backed up automaticaly every night. Do I need to synch and do a database backup with Photo Manager? It seems redundent to me.

Thanks for your help,

Judy

Judy, yes, it would be redundant in your case.

The link keeps coming back broken. I cannot get my program-2009 to backup. It says it has encountered an error and closes.
